Block non GSM charset

    Is there a way to block characters using non GSM charset overall. Spammers are circumventing words added to spam list by simply using one of those characters in the word. For example this word has an s and an e and this allows the word to get through SPAM detection.

    So unless anyone has a better way it seems the best solution is to add this list of characters to WordPress Settings > Discussion > Disallowed Comment Keys. I don’t have them all but hopefully enough to stop most comments using them.

    We will test some GSM characters and think about your suggestion.

    So far it looks like you can add words and phrases in the setting that include GSM characters without any issues and the blocking process works fine.

    Thanks. You’re probably not going to know which words or phrases to add with non GSM characters since they just insert those characters into various words. But I did find if you enter just the characters in the “words or phrases to block” like this it works for any words using those characters.
