Hello, When I see large numbers of 404 errors generated by specific IP addresses for URLs that have nothing to do with my site and clearly are NOT from typos, I’m assuming they are brute force attempts at penetrating my site. Does it make sense to use your “Block IP” feature? (I believe this results in a 403 code/”forbidden.”) Or is this a waste of time?

Any feedback would be appreciated. I did some searches in the WP forum and did not see any info related to this.

Love the Redirection plugin. I just made a donation. Thanks. -RVC

Ultimately it’s probably not going to make much difference as the originator of the attempts will change IP address. However, in the short term it may help with a persistent attempt.
