Block IP address if URL contains certain keywords

    So I’ve been getting a lot of 404’s in my log files I assume are from spammers on the internet. All the URL’s contain words like “register” or “memebers” or “signup” etc… They are coming from all different IP addresses from countries all over the world including my own. There are so many of them that It makes it difficult to see if I’m actually getting any legitimate vists.

    I’d like to be able to automatically add the IP addresses that use these terms in the URL to a ban list so they don’t show up in my logs anymore. So far I haven’t been able to find a plug in that will do what I want.

  • If the ip addresses keep changing, blocking ip’s is not going to solve your problem.

    It’s probably easier to filter your log files for the offending terms.

    Have you tried using google analytics? You could filter out the requests more easily there.
