Hi – When trying to edit a widget block, I get the following error:

“This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed”

The widget blocks were working fine before.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

  • The same behavior is happening to me. It is usually the first block in the “Row Layout” that has the issue. I have updated all plugins, themes, and server tools. Has be perplexed.

    Hey,
Thanks for posting! I’ll have the developer look into this and get back to you as soon as he’s available.
    Thanks for your patience!

    Kindly,

    I have an update.

My WP install was a few versions behind. I was able to update and the problem went away. I was at 5.5.3 (I think). Updated to 5.8 and all is good!

@petroc does this happen with a specific block or all blocks including core blocks?

Hi Ben – The problem seems to be with the Kadence Advanced Header. All text in the footer widget areas are headings (Kadence Advance Headers) and the content below the headers are Kadence Advanced Headers converted to the Kadence paragraph tag.

I have installed a third party Social Icons plugin that shows in the footer – this I can edit with no problem.

@petroc let me know if this is resolved for you with the latest update.
