    – I have a very basic install of WordPress 5.4 and the gutenberg block editor works fine.
    – Now without changing anything else I do the update to the latest WordPress 5.5.
    – After that update I have the following problem/issue:
    – Where I normally see the Icon with the dots on the lefthand side of a block to drag & drop a block this Icon is now missing and I cannot do drag & drop.
    – (the arrow up and down to move a block is all fine).
    – (I have cleared my browser cache and reloaded the page)

Help would be much appreciated, Walter van Dijk.

No need for help anymore as I have found the solution on this forum after some better searching and that works fine for me. The solution is :

The drag and drop is available by clicking, and holding down, on the up or down buttons for a second, you can then drag the block around.

Although this isn’t very obvious, it’s an interface that is being iterated on, and will hopefully be more intuitive with the next update, until then we can only apologize for the confusion.

    Thanks, Walter

I don’t understand what that means. As soon as I hold an up or down arrow button, it changes my cursor location, even if I was holding down my mouse button when I do it.

I still cannot drag and drop blocks again. Now I have to cut and paste everything. ??

@asha2012 try it again now with the latest WP update, they added a new place to “grip” the blocks that is more intuitive thankfully.
