I installed GM Block bots yesterday and since then have been getting a 500 internal server error.

Any tips on running this plugin so that I can use it (I do love the functionality)?

This from my server host: “it is one of your plugin that you’ve just installed today that is actually consuming the PHP memory limit, resulting to the 500 internal server error” (later identified as GM Block Bots

I’ve not seen that problem before. We specifically do NOT modify htaccess or anything like that, for the sole purpose of not causing any issues.

The only problem I’ve seen is with some caching plugins overriding some of our filtering. Do you have a caching plugin on the site? Even so, I’m not sure how this plugin could come close to memory limits, as it’s a very basic script.

If you have other thoughts please let us know, but for now I’m marking this as resolved.
