Just started up a clean install, WordPress 3.8, PHP 5.4.23 (I can’t move back to PHP 5.3) and it all worked fine.

Could be incompatibility with other plugins.

Yup, you were right. WP Super Cache was the culprit.

Unfortunately can’t make sense out of this plugin.

Have created a group with specific post categories. Have added a widget with the chosen group. Nothing shows up.
