• I have a website with 10,000+ photos organized in to galleries. In order to manage page load, I limit the number of images per page. However, if I enable the add hidden images option, a huge blank space comes up as “placeholders” get created for all the photos that aren’t on that page. I think that at once time I had solved this issue, but I haven’t found the proper version of my CSS to fix this issue again. Does anyone have suggestions for how to fix this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @orenstransitpage,

Is it possible for you to share with us the shortcode of that Album display?
In that way, we can try to replicate the issue.
To check the shortcode, you just need to check the HTML of the block or component using your editor (Gutenberg or classic editor).

    Please, keep us posted.
A screenshot of the problem will be wonderful.

    We are happy to help!

    Sure, here it is:

    [ngg_images source="galleries" container_ids="390" display_type="photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails" override_thumbnail_settings="0" thumbnail_width="240" thumbnail_height="160" thumbnail_crop="1" images_per_page="48" number_of_columns="4" ajax_pagination="0" show_all_in_lightbox="1" use_imagebrowser_effect="0" show_slideshow_link="0" slideshow_link_text="[Show slideshow]" template="/home8/orenstra/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ngglegacy/view/gallery-caption.php" order_by="alttext" order_direction="ASC" returns="included" maximum_entity_count="500"]

Proper distance between gallery description and first row of photos on page 1 of gallery:

    Hi @orenstransitpage,

Thanks for the details. I can see the markup that you have mentioned in the page but I have tested on my own test site and couldn’t replicate the issue perhaps it has to do with using the old shortcode construction.

Can you please create a Test page and Visually insert the gallery according to our instructions from here to see if it will continue to include the HTML of the Excluded images: https://www.imagely.com/docs/adding-galleries/

Thanks, I see that the markup of the excluded images is still included but I wasn’t able to replicate the same behavior so, unfortunately, to be honest – I can’t really understand why it is happening in your end. Just to be sure, can you confirm that you have used the visual insert method for the gallery?

Are you getting the same result if using a different lightbox effect such as Simple Lightbox?

The same result occurs if I use a different lightbox effect. I can confirm I used the visual insert method for the gallery.

Is it possible that a change in the php might have caused this? I don’t recall changing it for any reason but figured I’d ask and raise the possibility.

    Hello @orenstransitpage,

I checked the page, and space above and bellow the gallery is no longer there.
Were you able to include the propper CSS customization?
If that’s the case, please, let us know.
    Many thanks!

It is still showing up at my end, and I’m on my work computer at the moment (as opposed to my personal computer where I usually work on the website). Are you looking at https://orenstransitpage.com/nextgen-gallery-test-page/?
