• Hey guys,

Every once in awhile I get an error that locks me out of my WordPress Multisite. The thing about the error that is so maddening is that all it says is, “error” in the top left corner. No error codes, no “Hey! This could point you in the right direction!”, just…..error.

I have googled the issue several times and contacted my hosting solution, 1 & 1, and I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere.

Any advice? Or at least have other people had the issue themselves?

I will provide as many details as I can but there aren’t many other than what I’ve posted.

    Thanks in advance

  • Have you tried to examine the source of the page in the browser to see if there is any HTML being sent?

Yes Im having the exact problem. I’m on WP 3.4.2 with Buddypress 1.6.2 using default template on shared hosting. All other site are fine on the same host are fine when this happens. The error will go away after 10 minutes and all will be fine at this point. Then I will continue to work in the site and I receive the the same error message. It’s a white page with “error” in the top left corner of the page (with no quotations)

This is a recurring problem even after zero site changes or edits!

    Please help someone…

i’ve seen this happen on a site i work at. Any ideas what it is? What causes it and most importantly, how to fix it? It happens on every page, then a while later everything works again. If i restore a previous mysql database, everything works again, but the error eventually comes back. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, thanks.
