    Hi,

To modify a setting in the Pen theme I clicked the Pen Customizer at the top of the screen and selected an option. Only the x mark appears (top left screen) with a small box “modifying site name”. The rest of the screen remains blank. I’m unable to modify settings. I tried the following without result:
    – Pressed CTRL-F5
    – Tried different browsers
    – Tried from different pc’s
    – Waited for a long time
    – restarted the website
    – Deactivated and activated the pen Plug In

How can I solve this problem? Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi there,

It’s definitely not the theme, unless you have modified some of the files? Anyway, you need to enable the WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG through your wp-config.php and also install a plugin such as WP Debug Log Viewer to see if there’s any error message. I’d also disable all the “Active” plugins and enable them one by one to see if one of them is breaking the Customizer, it’s usually that.

    Hi,

Thanks for your response and advise. In the live website, I disabled plug-ins after the install date of Pen. No result. I’ve got a local shadow site (under XAMPP). I updated step by step and tested or I could start the configuration. Updating the plug ins, no problem.
After updating from WordPress 5.4.2 to version 5.5, it is impossible to configure the Pen Theme with the Pen plug In. Have you got any other advise?

    Thanks in advance.

To be precise: update from version 5.4.2 to version 5.5.

Have you also enabled WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG? If so, is there any error message?

Hi, I’ve found the plug in that causes the problem: CalPress Calendar. I disabled it and am able to configure Pen again in WP 5.5.1. Thanks for your help.
