Have you tried clicking “Plugins” and then “StatCounter Admin” from the left menu of your wordpress admin?

You’ll need to enter your StatCounter project id and security code.

Well, that’s the thing. I can’t get the to the project id and security code because Dashboard > StatCounter (where I would normally add the project) is blank. I finally broke down and used Firefox, but I just wanted to report the issue in Chrome.

    That’s interesting.

“Dashboard > StatCounter” should not let you add the project id and security code.

You should hve to go to “Plugins > StatCounter Admin” or “Settings > StatCounter Admin”.

We’ve modified the plug in now to give a proper error message if you visit “Dashboard > StatCounter” without first setting your project id.

Thank you for the feedback on this and I’m glad it is working for you now.

Dashboard > StatCounter does not let me enter the project id and security code. That is where I am given the project id and security code to enter under Settings > StatCounter. I don’t know how to be any clearer than that.

Can you talk me through how you normally install the StatCounter plugin? It shouldn’t require getting the project id from “Dashboard > StatCounter”. That was only intended for viewing the reports. It was not intended to help with the installation of the code.

In order to enter the project id and security code, I first have to know what the project id and security code are supposed to be. They are found under Dashboard > StatCounter. I have to add the project (which I cannot do because it appears blank) and then the project id and security code are under project settings in Dashboard > StatCounter. Once I have them, I can copy and paste them under Settings > StatCounter.

The problem is that I don’t know what they are when I’m using Chrome because Dashboard > StatCounter appears blank until the project id and security code are entered. It’s a circle – I can’t get the codes because the area that displays them is blank, but I have to enter the codes so that the area that displays them won’t be blank.

Thanks for you patience in helping to resolve this.

I understand the problem you are describing.

I’m unable to recreate the Chrome error however I have included a possible fix for it. As I’m unable to recreate it, I don’t know if this will fix the issue.

Can you test out the latest version of the plugin 1.6.5 and let me know if it’s fixed?

    Many thanks.
