Okay, so even though I’ve tried troubleshooting over the past couple of weeks, I’ve only just managed to sit down for hours on end to really try and work it out.
I found that for a couple of pages I could quite easily fix the problem by turning off the Kadence plugin so I could access the block editor, then deleteing the Kadence Heading block. When I reactivate the plugin I can then access the editor for said page and just rebuild the H1 in html.
This has worked for a couple of pages. But then there are other pages where the Kadence heading block is already inside a Kadence row, inside a Kadence section, etc., and simply deleting the Kadence heading block in this scenario just doesn’t work. When I turn the plugin back on the editor stops loading again.
The plugin is also doing all kinds of weird stuff in the backend. Stuff like when I deactivate it, it never actually deactivates unless I do it by checking the box and using the “Apply to all” method. Then I actually deleted it at one point but then every time I clicked on the edit button for a page it redirected me to the Kadence settings, even though I had literally deleted the plugin. Weird stuff.
Anyway, I’ll keep trying to troublshoot this tomorrow. What a damn mess though. Messed up my whole site and my site has nearly 2000 pages.
By the way… I use Toolset on my site. I would speculate that there is a compatibility issue due to an update from either Kadence, Toolset, WordPress, or any combination of the above.
For anyone interested, my site is indoorskydivingsource dot com.
