Blank page when attempting to create new post or page

  • Hello there,

    I am attempting to create a new post in WP for the first time since last year, but when I click the link to add a new post or new page, it just returns a completely blank screen. I see that this isn’t a new issue, but I have tried all the advice I can find in other posts:

    – I have completely updated WP, all plugins, all themes
    – I have cleared browser cache
    – I have tried to create a new post both in fully-updated Chrome and Edge browsers
    – I have tried using the default theme
    – I have tried disabling all plugins
    – I have tried using Classic Editor, but it doesn’t give me a field to actually create a post

    Any ideas would be welcome.

    Please also try:
    – clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.
    – with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    Thanks – I did both of these as well and it did not help. Aside from Chrome, which is the browser I use, I also checked in Edge, which I had never used previously to access the site and had no plugins.

    Troubleshooting with your browser:
    Your browser can help you identify JavaScript issues or conflicts and this article can assist you in doing that diagnosis. This could help identify Visual Editor issues as well.

    Ok thanks. SCRIPT_DEBUG did not work, so I looked at the developer console. These were the warnings it gave:

    Just wondering if anyone else has ideas about this. I really need to be able to post; the last time I posted was August 2021 and the only thing that had changed on the site since then was automatic updates.

    Are you working with WP version 5.9+?
    If so, what’s the version of PHP you use?

    Yes, currently WP v. 5.9.3.
    What version of PHP is optimal? Previously I think I was running 7.4 but I can check that with my provider, or upgrade if needed.

    7.4+ is fine.

    But php 8.+ is not quiet conpatible with WP5.9+
