The last few weeks I have been trying to install WordPress 2.2 on a server with MySQL 5.0.45 and PHP 4.4.7. Everything seemed to go as normal, but when I got to the login page an error stating that cookies were not enabled was displayed. Additionally the name of the database was appearing in the top left hand corner of the login page.

So I downloaded 2.3.2 and gave the installation another go. No more cookie errors, but after clicking to login, the site displayed a blank screen with the database name appearing in the top left of the screen.

I was stuck… until 2.3.3 was released. After installation of latest version all problems are fixed and everything works great.

  • Interesting.

I had a very similar problem with 2.3.3 (ie: the cookie error and then a blank screen). Now I have tried 2.5 and I am getting the blank screen without anything on it, and no cookie errors. I cannot seem to find any info in the Codex about this.
