I used the previous version of ReactPress successfully, but cannot get the latest version to work. Like other users, I’m getting a blank page.

Now I know you ask us to follow documentation steps religiously, but I have some questions. In your steps, you ask us to create-react-app, start it, and build it locally (steps 1 and 6). Is this necessary even when one has remote terminal access and can run these commands directly on the remote server? If yes, why?

In general, I feel that this plugin has huge potential but would benefit from better documentation, and more importantly logs\error messages that can guide users when things go wrong (take this as constructive criticism). I would gladly pay for a more refined version of the plugin.

For the record, I did try to follow all your steps. The app worked locally but not on the remote server. I also tried a fresh WP installation to no avail. The only problem I noted is that (locally) the Update Dev-Environment button is not working (loading gif keeps showing). I don’t know how important this step is as it doesn’t seem to feature in the list of steps.

With no error message\feedback on what is wrong, I’m at a dead end.

@ranierbonnici The local dev environment is only a create-react-app, that has its index.html updated with the content of the page/slug defined in ReactPress. How useful it is when accessing the remote machine, I cannot say.

When the update doesn’t finish, it is a sign that the download of the slug times out.

I try to improve the documentation and error log, but unfortunately my time is scarce. I am always open to pull requests and sponsored development, though.
