My Media Library is completely blank after updating to 4.9.2. Whether I access it from the Dashboard or Add Media to post/page, I get a blank library and “Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘limitExceeded’ of undefined” in the console.

The files are still all on the server and they show up in my posts. I can use Browser upload to add new files but they don’t show up in the library either. They do actually get uploaded.

Interestingly, the first time I accessed the media library after WP updated tonight, it displayed perfectly. I changed from ‘images’ to ‘list’ and it disappeared.

The screen options tab is also missing. The Help tab is present.

I have cleared cache, disabled themes and plugins but the problem remains. I have also tried ‘resaving” my Settings > Media settings. I have tried creating a new user.

Would truly appreciate any help or ideas.
    Thank you

UPDATE: I copied over fresh copies of:

    includes/js/mediaelement
    includes/js/plupload
    includes/js/swfupload

and it seems to be fixed. I’m marking this as resolved. I suspect a botched update.

    Hi @lazykins,

Thanks for sharing your solution. That did not work for me. Can I ask why you went that route?

    Thanks

I noticed some errors in my console related to those directories and some date stamps on the files in those directories that did not match other installations I oversee, even though the files were present. I think they had been corrupted for awhile. The server this install is on is kind of laggy and has been known to drop connections. I hope you find your answer!
