• I am trying to leave extra line spaces between the end of my post and the references, but no matter how many times I hit the enter key, the blank lines don’t hold. I have been using a spacer image, but that seems archaic.

I have tried using CTRL + ENTER, but that has no affect either. I tried entering the HTML code of <p> and
, but these don’t do the trick.

I am using the Connections Reloaded theme.

Does anyone know why this happens and if there is a work around other than using a spacer image?

Thanks in advance for any advice you are able to provide – [ Jeff ]

  • i have the same issue and it’s getting really annoying, for now i’ve settled with leaving extra line spacing to make it less cluttered but it needs to be fixed.

Yes, I had this issue and I too am using the Connections Reloaded Theme v 1.5 and what I have done to work around this was I created a clear jpg and gif to serve as a placeholder. One is larger than the other and I just load them whenever I need to hold lines, etc.

You can see it at work between my sections at gardeningonthemoon.com

I use it before and after “Gardening on the Moon, https://www.gardeningonthemoon.com , originally published this post” and other places as needed

You are right, it is a pain, but this workaround solves the problem!

    Regards – [ Jeff ]

    That’s a decent workaround.

It seems like this problem is widespread and can be caused by different pieces of the system, so there is no easy answer.

Some people want space, some people have spaces but but don’t want them!!

I am trying to understand the problem, right not I guess its not a bug but just the way each theme works with WP to handle the content.

Hey jbross, I am thinking of using the same work around. What did you do about borders around the image file?

I am getting borders that kind of defeat the purpose.

Did you just get lucky that your css handled the pics without borders? Or is the another workaround for that?

    I’m running WORDPRESS 2.7.1..
When I’m entering my posts, I can’t get WP to create a blank line.

As listed before, no matter how many times I press Enter or CTRL-Enter I can’t get a blank line.

When I enter it doesn’t work, WP changes it to ; which does nothing. The <p></p> OR <p style=”margin-bottom: 0in”> doesn’t do anything or they’re ignored by WP.

I’m having to use &NBSP; to create line breaks.

I don’t want to have to back to the raw HTML soce to insert stupid code for a blank line.

What I really need WP to do is to recognize <p style=”margin-bottom: 0in”> and change it to something that works, &NBSP; .

Does anyone know how to do this for FIX WP to do what it’s supposed to do; create a blank line?

    Thanks.

I found my personal solution; seems to work fine.

    <p> </p>

    It works every time.

    Thanks,
    LHenryJr.
