    Hello,

Everything on the shipping label is working well except that when I click purchase and the label pops up to print, it is completely blank. I have to click cancel. Then scroll down to the label tracking and reprint label again and then it pops up. I have to do this every time. Is there a way to fix this? I appreciate any help.

  • Hi there!

    Thanks for reaching out!
Sorry to hear about the inconvenience with the label printing functionality!

Can you please share the WooCommerce and WooCommerce Shipping & Tax versions you’re using, as well as your browser?
If you don’t know what browser you’re using, you can go to https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/ to find it out.
The WooCommerce and WooCommerce Shipping & Tax versions can be found in your WordPress admin, in the Plugins page.

    Thank you!

    Hi Reyna,

Do you have any browser extensions enabled in Safari? If so, can you disable and test again? Also, does it work properly in another browser, e.g., Chrome or Firefox?

    Hi Reyna,

Thanks for providing the details! I tested this in my environment and at first I couldn’t reproduce it.
I see now that we have a ticket in our queue specifically for Safari: https://github.com/Automattic/woocommerce-services/issues/2272

We don’t currently have a workaround for Safari (besides what you described). But the label printing should be working correctly on other browsers like Chrome or Firefox, if you have one available.

Thanks for pointing it out and for your patience!

I’ve been reporting it to Apple in their beta program since August 2020. As of today they still say “no recent similar reports” with status “open.”

This bug did not occur before Big Sur. It used to be you could work around by “reprinting” the label, but even that fails in recent dot releases. Right now using iOS or Chrome is the only workaround I know.

    Howdy @tfahrner,

Thanks for confirming that the workaround does work for you. If you’d like, you can follow along with the bug report on the GitHub issue my colleague mentioned earlier: https://github.com/Automattic/woocommerce-services/issues/2272

We’ll mark this topic as resolved, but feel free to open a new one if you’d like more help.

Wow. I just spent 45 minutes trying to find out why Safari wasn’t printing labels correctly. Including purchasing three labels (requesting refund for two of them) because I thought it was an error from USPS.

This really seems like it should be something pointed out in the UI somewhere. We all know it’s easy enough to detect browsers these days and it would solve a lot of headaches for Safari users.

As of the most recent Mac OS update this workaround no longer seems to work.

When the label is created in Safari I get a blank black page.

The former workaround, “Reprint shipping label” asks, “This webpage is trying to print. Do you want to print this webpage?” which now produces a blank white page/PDF.

    Hi @stickel @amplitudecycles,

Thanks for reaching out to us! I am sorry to hear you are also having trouble with WooCommerce Shipping & Tax.

Per the forum guidelines, could you please start your own topic, as we quite often see issues that look similar in nature but have very different underlying causes? A topic per user helps us focus on your specific issue to get to the root cause for you quicker!

We are still looking into this bug, so if previous solutions no longer work, I suggest using Chrome as a workaround: https://github.com/Automattic/woocommerce-services/issues/2272.
