I’ve been having issues with my blog hosted at Yahoo(not optional). The blog worked for a while, and we spent some time and effort into developing it.

Seemingly out of no where, the site gets the blank index. Ontop of that, while editing or browsing the site you may randomly experience a “cannot connect to database”. I’ve been unable to properly install either WPCache or SuperCache to assist with loading times I can only guess add to this.

Anyway, along with the blank index there’s also an issue logging in. I can access the database and such through phpMyAdmin. However attempts at logging in via wp-admin are shot. It does accept the right username, but the passwords will not take.

This recent stint has my navigation messed with also. You can view subpages, but not the index. It’s quite a mess and Yahoo can’t figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m metaphorically in the dark with a single match as my light.

Unfortunately, that means just that: the server sucks.

On top of that, except a few helpers who are more or less familiar with yahoo hosting, none of us is really able to give you useful advices, because on Y servers nothing works as in normal places. Sorry.

I understand Yahoo is to blame for a good deal of incompatibility, however I just want to get back to speed with where I was already at.

    Basically I need to fix:
    blank index
can’t login via wp-admin (does display and accept usernames, just not passwords)

The slow loading is a hurdle, but one I can jump through optimizing on-site and such.

Like you suggested in another thread the wp-options was the culprit. I’m unfamiliar with what it should look like. Is there a specific part of the wp-options table I could check for problems?
