• I have been trying to get WordPress for iPhone to work for quite some time now, and have still not managed to get it to connect to my self-hosted blog.

When I attempt to add my blog to the iPhone app, I get the following:

    Communication Error
    Operation could not be completed.
    (NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 64.)

After a lot of searching around on www.remarpro.com and the web, I believe I have narrowed the problem down to a blank first line that appears on top of my xmlrpc.php file. Both Safari and Firebug point to this error when pointing them directly to the file:

    https://www.erlandsen.net/xmlrpc.php?rsd

Now, I do not have the techical knowledge to verify whether this actually is the source to my problems, but judging from several other users’ descriptions of similar problems – with the iPhone application or other remote clients – this seems very likely to me.

I have tried updating the xmlrpc.php file and editing the .htaccess file. Oh, and yes: the XML-RPC box in the WordPress control panel is checked…

Thank you to anyone who has the insight and competence to help me on this one!

I should also mention that I just installed an evaluation copy of MarsEdit, and it manages to connect to my blog just fine (which should be through the exact same file, right…?)

Some of the places where I have found indications towards the problem:
