The plugin gets the log file name from the “error_log” setting in php.ini. You can also configure up a custom log file elsewhere (e.g. in wp-config.php), in which case it should automatically use that file.

Is the dashboard widget completely blank, or does it say something like “The log file is empty”? If it’s blank, then either there’s a bug of some kind, or your log file contains nothing but whitespace (which is unlikely).

Sorry it says “The log file is empty”

I am just a little surprised that this would be the case. I will track the other settings.

That’s uncommon, but not necessarily a bug. If your site is brand new or particularly well-configured (e.g. no broken/outdated plugins and so on), it’s entirely possible for the PHP error log to be empty.
