    Hello all,

Got the dreaded “admin blank screen” after updating to version 3.2.4. on our site . From what i’ve read here I,m not the first one to whom this happens. I’ve activated the debug but even then I’m not getting any messages when using any admin pages. Here is what I’ve done so far all with no results:

    replace the wp-admin file
reload the updated file (less wp-contents) using FTP
    renamed the plugins directory
    replaced the security keys
    replaced the functions.php file
look for a blank line in wp-config.php
reinstall a previuos version of WordPress (3.4)
reinstall an older version of my template

Nothing off the above solved my problem. The site itself works fine as far as I can tell, but cannot access the admin page past the login screen.

Any suggestions you might have will help as I’ve ran out of things to try.

    Thanks in advance,

    the site is https://assohum.org

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Hello Esmi,

Tried your suggestions this but after renaming the themes & plugins folder the site does not even show up, just getting a blank page.

Any idea what to try next?

    Thanks

    OK Esmi,

Did all of the above and was unable to run the upgrade manually. Now it’s blank pages all over, no site.

    any suggestions?

    Thanks for the quick reply

Just so you know, I had a number of templates under wp-content/themes/ I renamed all of them with “_old” except “twentyeleven” still getting a blank page when I try to access the site.

Actually none of the themes seems to work except the template I purchased form a provider and that we’ve been using for a while now.

after renaming the themes & plugins folder

No one suggested renaming the wp-content/themes folder. Remove every folder inside wp-content /themes except the twentyeleven folder.

    Hello Esmi,

Did exactly that, now nohing comes up.

    any ideas?

    Thanks again for the reply

Your site is still NOT using the Twenty Eleven theme.

    Hello esmi,

I put the old theme back because this is the only way that my site can be functionnal. With only the “twentyeleven” folder under wp-content/themes/ all I’m getting is a blank page again.

I activated the debug function in wp-config.php and removed the template folder again to leave only “twentyeleven” and I still get nothing but a blank page.

Don’t know what else to do, sorry.

    Thanks again,

    mpionahq,
You’ve fixed your site, it looks like. How did you do it? I’m getting the same problem on our site. I’ve tried most of the same things that you did before I found this.

    Hello jreeseUMD
I wish I could tell you otherwise but I’m still having the same issue with the admin pages, still getting a blank page.

    I’m still working on it,

I’ll let you know when and if I solve it.

    Best of luck to you.

    Hello jreeseUMD,

Just soved my issue: Not sure if this applies to you or not, but according to my web host support, our site was hacked. There was a line inserted in line 29 of config.php redirecting to a link that was a fake css page, went like this: The line starts with “error_reporting(0)” and continues with a require_once statement.

Not sure if that will help you but I hope so.

    Good luck
