    Hello,

I am looking for anti-spam plugin for all of our sites and tried CleanTalk Trial first. There are few things that I would like to understand or change if possible (didn’t found that option).

    1) Is it possible to use CleanTalk just to move spam comments to spam, but not approving other comments so they stay in the Pending until we approve it manually?

    2) I noticed there were lots of records with approved or spammed comments, but comment text contained just “-“. When I checked the post where this kind of comment was approved by CleanTalk, there were no comments at all. So why are there records of approved/spammed comments with no text? I’m wondering if it’s a bug, or someone tried to type a comment and text was deleted?

Thank you for your answer. We really need to get rid of spam. Not looking for free plugins as we have no problem with paying for something that help us save time. But I need it to work without a problem.

    Best Regards,
    Dominik

    Hello, @nosotrosgroupo.

    1. Yes, please use this guide:
    https://cleantalk.org/help/spam-comment-management

    2. Most likely the form didn’t take the visitor’s data but the CleanTalk plugin still took it and checked it. More details are here:
    https://cleantalk.org/help/faq-work#requests_number_difference

General idea of how the CleanTalk Services work is described here:

    Hello @serge00,

    Thank you for your answer.

    1) The guide is covering what should be done with spam comments. But I would like to manage how comments that are NOT spam should be handled. I simply want this: Comment was not marked as spam => leave it in Pending. Don’t approve it. I want to approve comments myself. I need a plugin to automatically mark spam comments, but leave non-spam comments in Pending so I can check them manually if they don’t contain something negative or whatever.

    2) Okay, understand what is going on here. But why it acts like approved comment with an actual link to a comment? But doesn’t matter if previous point can be done so I approve comments manually.

    Thank you,
    Dominik

    1. In that case, please go here:
? WordPress Admin Area → Settings → Discussion → enable the option “Comment must be manually approved” → Save Changes.

This option should manage your website comments exactly as you requested.

    2. It is made so to know if your website form is too hard to fill or not.
If you see a lot of approved records in your anti-spam log but actual data received greatly differs from your anti-spam log, that probably means the visitors struggle to fill in the form correctly most of the time.
