• I just transferred a site from one host to another and now I’m getting blank pages in Admin. This is one of 4 sites I moved and the only one that I’m having problems with.

    I’ve deleted all the plugins and that gets the pages back, but what’s happening next doesn’t make any sense to me.

    When I reinstall Yoast SEO or Counterize the problem comes back. I use both these plugins on 3 other sites that I just successfully moved yesterday.

    Anyone have any idea what to do next?

    On further investigation it looks like certain combinations of plugins will cause this problem. I can get it to work with Yoast SEO and Counterize as long as I don’t include Subscribe2 or Login Logout, but it works fine with Subscribe2 as long as Counterize and SEO are not included. There are other combinations that cause the problem too, but nothing by itself or with some other plugins.

    This has to be just a symptom of something else.

    Everything was working fine until I downloaded the installation from the old hosting account and uploaded it to the new one. Both are with the same host and the other 3 sites I moved in the last couple of days work without problems.

    I don’t know what I can try next short of completely wiping the site and the hundreds of posts.

    I tried reinstalling WordPress. No change.

    I notice the last php block in edit.php is not closed.

    <?php
    include('./admin-footer.php');

    I compared it to a good installation and it has the same thing, but I tried adding the ?> to the end of the file and it didn’t appear to make any difference.

    Please do not edit any WordPress core files. FWIW, it is common practice to omit the closing ?> at the end of a php file as, strictly speaking, it is not necessary.

    It seems to me that this is a case of multiple conflicting plugins.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I understand about not editing core files (and I put it back to normal), but I’m getting desperate. I’m a programmer and used to being able to debug things.

    The theory of conflicting plugins doesn’t make sense to me since this site worked fine before the move. Also, I use all these plugins on the other 3 sites (and the same theme on 2 of them).

    Are all of your other sites on the same physical server? Have you checked your site’s error logs for any possible clues?

    Yes, they were all moved from same old IX Web hosting server to the same new IX Web hosting server.

    I can’t find any error logs. I’m guessing IX Web hosting doesn’t give access to them. I only have the access logs.

    The only thing I can think of is that something has become corrupted during the move. I have tried re-uploading the whole site and I’ve tried reinstalling the plugins (and WordPress and the Suffusion theme).

    I’m going to try reinstalling all the plugins from scratch, including the ones that don’t appear to be causing the problem. So far I’ve just been moving them between a temp directory and the plugins directory.
