Bizarre problem – excerpt showing but "page not found"

Have you tried:

– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I haven’t added any new plugins today so not sure how it could be them. In fact, there are only 3 active plugins on the entire site. I have deactivated all of them and still am getting the error.

I think i will delete any unused plugins to see if that works. I don’t really want to switch to twentyeleven if possible.

Removed all unused plugins but still no joy.

This is actually the second issue i’ve had today on my site. The first issue was trying to add pages to a parent page. I could add a parent page for every page except one. When i gave the final page a parent, it would only show the image and not any text. I had to give up and leave the final page alone in the end. Strange problems.

Solved, almost. Its a permalink issue with wordpress. Not sure why but /%postname%/ is not working anymore. Every other permalink works apart from the postname.

I’m having the same sort of problem, how exactly did you solve it?
