Bitrate for video hosted on S3/Cloudfront

    Thinking of using this Presto plugin for our S3/Cloudfront hosted/streamed 1080 vidoes.

    Interest to hear what bitrate settings and enocing are recommended for hosting these videos with this plugin, please?

    Thank you for your interest in Presto Player. When it comes to bitrate settings for 1080p videos, a common range is typically between 5 to 10 Mbps (megabits per second) but this can vary depending on your specific needs.

    Regarding encoding, here are some recommendations:

    Codec Choice: For 1080p videos, H.264 (AVC) is a widely supported codec that offers good quality at lower bitrates compared to H.265 (HEVC). However, if storage or bandwidth efficiency is a concern, HEVC can provide better compression efficiency at the same quality level.

    HLS Video Encoding: We recommend using HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) video encoding over formats like mp4.
