    Hello,

    You are using windows? If you have your wallet on a PC connected to a residential DSL line, then you also need to take special care with NAT on your modem/router.

    Probably this is not what you want to do. In 99% of cases, you should be running the wallet on a server with a static IP. And that usually means Linux.

    To find the conf file, see here: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/bitcoin-conf.md#configuration-file-path

    If you have Linux and sysadmin skills, you can install a full node wallet as a service, and maintain/update/backup the wallet. If you don’t, you should check out the CoinPayments adapter which is easier to use and does not require setting up a server.

    Let me know if you have any more questions about this.

    with regards,
    Alex

    Thanks again,

    I like the way you answered to your client “If you have evidence that your funds were stolen you should go to the police. In some situations it may be possible to track down the thieves.” LOL. .

    Yes, this is actually the case. If you have any other questions please open a new thread.

    Hello, I also have a problem with my Bitcoin Adapter and the message I keep getting is “Not responding: Dashed_Slug_Wallets_Coin_Adapter_RPC->get_balance() failed with status=”0″ and error=”Failed to connect to 50.87.145.151 port 8332 after 0 ms: Connection refused”

    I do not have that much of skills to be able to configure the settings in line with the server connections, and I have tried the dashed-slug aproach but my country is one of those that were embargoed. now I am left hanging and i need help.

    Also where do I find the dashed-slug daemon on my server

    @spkenrich Hello,

    The message you indicate means that the plugin could not connect to your wallet.

    If you are not comfortable with Linux system administration, and you can’t use the CoinPayments adapter, your only solution is to hire someone who knows about these things to help you set up a wallet. There’s no way I can teach you how to install a wallet as a service, configure the wallet, open up the firewalls, set up regular backups on cron, and keep a linux system updated over the forums.

    Also, there is no such thing as a dashed-slug daemon.

    Please open a new thread if you have any more questions. This is an old thread that is unrelated.

    with regards
