bing maps how do I get shortcode???

I have been back and forth and back again and cannot find a simple step by step to get a bing map on my page.
    Get a key.
    Put in the shortcode.
    The shortcode it automatically generated.
But nowhere have I found where and how to do this.

As you can tell I am new and learning and not a developer or programmer, but frustrated by the lack of instructions for so many things.

    Can anyone help me please?

  • Emma,

I have just downloaded this plugin and found it a like confusing at first however:

activate the plugin (having installed it first)!

    go to https://www.bingmapsportal.com and register
on the left of the page once you have registered there is an option for “create or view Keys” – you want to create one, I did a basic key type and application type of public website.

At the bottom of the page you once created you will see your key – copy this.

go to your plugin and paste this key in the plugin – settings section.

Then you need your long lat code:
go to bing maps and find your place then right click and copy the two long numbers down and use this as a starter

    [bingmaps-map posn=53.008317,-2.180633 zoom=16 w=800 h=500 type=aerial]

you should be able to alter the map size and type etc…
