Bing Bot 404’s

    When I’m logged into WP Admin, I receive numerous 404 errors from Bing Bot (I’ve confirmed the requests are from a valid Bing Bot IP) for a .txt file on my server. The URL is a bunch of random characters (from what I can see in the plugin source code its the API key). How do I prevent these errors from happening or what is supposed to be included in that .txt file?

  • This is the file that engines using IndexNow check to verify the site. It should be automatically created by the plugin (or I did not saw instruction about creating it) but it’s not. I have the same problem.

    I manually created the file but it seems every time I update/publish a page or post a different 404 error occurs from Bing.
