Billing number is already used

Hi there,

It sounds like your site may be using an additional plugin to request a phone number when creating a new account, as you mentioned this is not at the checkout, correct?

I tried to test/ replicate this error on my site, using only WooCommerce core active and the default Storefront theme, but I wasn’t able to replicate.

Are you able to provide a screenshot of where this error is occurring on the site?

Yes. It’s not during checkout, it’s at registration. I turned off the phone number requirement, but still got the error when the field was left blank. So now I’ve turned it back on as a required field because of too many customer service questions about the error. So now I’m back to just customer service messages from customers who try to use a fake number that someone else has already used (000-000-0000, 123-456-7890, etc.)

How do I take a screen shot of where the error is coming from (I know how to take a screen shot, just not where to get the information to take a picture of).

From looking at the list of plugins, my best guess at this point is that this is the plugin causing the issue:

I’d recommend temporarily disabling that plugin and then test to see if the issue is resolved.
