    Hi,

The website mentioned above has a billing address defined as optional. I cannot find the setting where to change this field to mandatory. As you can assume, I sometimes run into problems as the customer does not fill in the field and then I do not know where to sent it.

We also use the plugin “WooCommerce Checkout Manager” but I cannot find this field (it is not defined here) and cannot change it in this plugin.

My question: Where in Woocommerce can I change the billing address field form optional to mandatory?

    Thank you for your help.

    Regards,

    Richard

  • Hey there, @richard_vermeer! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

By default, the billing address is required on the checkout.

You mentioned you are using WooCommerce Checkout Manager, have you tried disabling it and checking if the billing is required or not to confirm if this plugin is interfering with that?

Are you using the checkout block or shortcode?

If disabling this plugin does not solve the issue, please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi,

We solved it by installing a postcode checker plugin that overwrites the billing address making it mandatory. So issue is solved. By deactivating the WooCommerce Checkout Manager plugin, the billing address is still optional. I think it is an earlier adjustment in the code by the former websitedeveloper.

Anyway, we solved the issue, thank you for your input!

    Regards,

    Richard
