Bilingual Blog – Multisite vs. Plug In

Hey guys,

first of all, I am a complete novice concerning WordPress. I like to set up a little blog in English as well as in German.

I have searched the web up and down, but still have no clue wether to choose a plugin like WPML or a multisite installation….

These things are in my mind:
– SEO optimization for each language
– translation of user comments?

I really would appreciate your thoughts and opinion! TIA
