• I wrote a post where I include a picture (well several pictures are in the post but this just pertains to one). The picture is a long somewhat thin copy of a menu that takes up 1/4 to 1/5 of the left side of the screen. So the right 3/4 or 2/5 of the screen is just a big white blank space.

Maybe this has something to with overlapping but not sure. I would like text to continue in that big white open space. I’m not super good at explaining things with words. So if you go to the link listed above you’ll see the one long thin picture I’m talking about I hope.

The page would look neater (well cooler) if I could get the text to flow there but I can’t because Gutenberg editor uses the whole section for the picture.

Is it possible to do what I want? Is it easy? This is I’m sure what’s called a page formatting issue. All my life I’ve ignored this kind of thing cause I always figured it was too complicated to learn. Now I want to learn it cause I want the page to look better.

    Does this make sense?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Yes it’s possible and yes, it’s easy. Simply select the block and choose left alignment. This will make the text below it flow to the right of the image.
But in the case of the page at the link you gave, there isn’t very much text before there is another image, so it doesn’t look good.

Excellent. I will expand upon the text. There’s always additional gobbledygook to add as I remove so much during the editing process. It’s late now but I will attack that in the morning and will report back my success tomorrow.

    Thank you.

Success! Thank you Joy. For that simple non-intuitive answer (to me anyways) I would show my appreciation with cup of coffee or whatever. You explained well, I followed the directions, and yes, it just works. Yeah, I definitely need to expand the text cause it does like cruddy, but you pointed that out before I attempted the effort.

There was a previous trolly message making fun of my image processing abilities (which is saved) and adding no help whatsoever. That post silently disappeared when you posted your answer.

    Thanks again.

Just finished adding the text to flow around that picture. Thank you so much. This can be closed out, but maybe leave my question and Joys answer around so that this might help someone else in the future.
