Big Trouble in Little China HELP!

  • Okay,
    So in short, I have no idea what I am doing it would seem.
    I changed my template before and it was pretty straight forward.
    Now I am trying to set up the Hueman temp as it is better for what we do, yet i have one (major) issue, when I clicked on preview of the theme, it did not populate it like the demo.
    What do I need to do so that I can get all of the columns and indy segments so that I can have it look exactly like the demo?
    This is an issue as I have 2 big interviews this evening and would hate for them to see my site all hacked up as it is at that moment.

    I guess I should be more specific as I am (sort of) figuring things out here.
    On the home page I only get text on the sidebars, where as on the demo you see photos/video with the text.

    Hi v3tv. The left sidebar is using the AlxTabs widget with Recent and Most Popular posts. Below that is the AlxPosts widget with a specific category. The right sidebar is using the AlxPosts widget without a category. Below that is the AlxTabs widget using only the Recent Comments section. Hope that helps.

    So does it matter that I am using the WP version vs the website version?
    I am seeing where you posted that it lacks certain features i guess?

    The base code of the two versions is the same. The basic difference is described on the theme website:

    Note: The version of Hueman available on www.remarpro.com is a “lite” version, and does not include sharing buttons, basic shortcodes and some other things as it is seen as plugin territory.

    It does, very much so, thank you.
    Now the last issue (of today anyway) is that I have no header on my post, which means you cannot navigate on my site for some reason.
    There is my logo and thats it.

    Sorry, i did mean to ask before, is there a way to go in and ADD thumbnails to the grey squares?
    As you can see mine are blank.
    Also I have no drop down menus either. What did i screw up on that account?

    Did someone modify header.php? All the navigation containers are missing from the source code.

    I have not touched anything, to my knowledge.
    I literally just re installed the other version as well so it should have been fine.
    I never had drop menus though.
    How do I go about getting the drop down menus sorted? Assuming they are not in that article

    Do you have menus defined and assigned to either the topbar or header?
    The post I linked describes how to add image placeholders for video posts.

    I don’t think so, but not sure which of these items to select to tell on the sidebar. I cannot see the topbar nor header so I cannot tell.

    Ever since I started this today, my site has been the victim of external attempts to access the site, is this common? I keep getting these locked out messages due to failed log in attempts that I am not making.

    Okay, sorted the header issue, kind of. Still want it at the top as a headline as well but oh well.
    now i need to figure out why there is a feature image that keeps appearing even though I have removed it.

    Unless you have menus defined and assigned to specific menu locations in Appearance > Menus, there won’t be any.

    external attempts to access the site, is this common?

    Every day, 24 hours a day. There is no telling how many WP sites are hacked every day due to insufficient or non-existent security measures. There are several plugins and many, many articles available on the net to address WP security.
