@r-a-y thank you it works. Instead of giving the code into the function.php by hand you can use plugin code snippets also. It’s more comfortable if you update your theme later. Now all German “Umlaute” like ?, ü, ? or the ? (szet) work now in BuddyPress Groups newsfeed (wall). Thumbs up!

I found one more issue you’ve not resolved. What’s missing are bulleted list with numbers or signs like:

1. line 1
2. line 2
3. line 3

<ol>
 	<li>line 1</li>
 	<li>line 2</li>
 	<li>line 3</li>
</ol>

In combination with plugin WP Better Emails the result is shown as:

“line 1line 2line 3”

but it should be shown as:

line 1
line 2
line 3

or

1. line 1
2. line 2
3. line 3

and everything you’ve written bevore and after the code above, all texts have been shown in one line without any line break.

Your plugin should have no effect on BuddyPress messaging from user to user (private message). After deactivating your plugin everything works correct, if a user sends a user a message.

Note: I use “BuddyBoss Inbox” plugin for formatting private user message.
