If I choose to pay with paypal, the order received will automatically take the person’s Paypal account name. It does not take the name entered on the checkout page. This is very dangerous because if the buyer wants to give a gift to someone else, the recipient’s name will be different from the name in their Paypal.
I see this issue has been reported by someone but it doesn’t seem to be fixed.
It makes me not dare to use this plugin.

the recipient’s name will be different from the name in their Paypal.

Are you referring to a digital product or a shippable product? The recipient indicates there is shipping, which is what the shipping first and last name is for.

If not, then why are you using the billing first and last name as the recipient name for a gift? That would typically not be their use case, since the billing fields are for who is purchasing the item. The recipient is who is receiving them, so there would be a different set of fields for that.

    Thanks,

I am referring to a shippable product. What I want is that the customer information entered on the checkout page should be preserved. But your plugin automatically takes the Paypal account name instead of the customer’s name entered in the checkout page. So when I received the order in the admin page, the information was no longer correct.
Have you used via “Paypal Standard”? It does very well for the problems I mentioned.

Please remain respectful in this support thread. We are asking questions because we’re trying to understand your use case.

The person paying for a product is the buyer, and that is why the information from PayPal is used.

The recipient is who is receiving the product, that’s why the plugin preserves the shipping first and last name if a value has been entered on the checkout page. You will notice that if you change the shipping name within the PayPal popup, the plugin will still use the value entered on the checkout page.

That’s exactly what I need. But your plugin actually takes the name of the Paypal account no matter what I enter in the name field at checkout page.
Looks like you don’t understand how your plugin works either. Before supporting, please test your plugin to see how it works.
I don’t need any more help. Thanks!
