• My site averaged 10,000 users per month between October 2018 and April 2019 in the google analytics report. In the month of April, which started breaking visit records, there was a sudden drop in visits, which decreased every day until in August there were only 3667 users. I wonder what might have caused this? Is there a way to tell if the site has been penalized by Google or something else? I contacted the server, but they said everything is fine about the server. Thank you for your attention.

  • There are two ways to find out if your site was penalized:

    1) Using Google’s Webmasters Search Traffic Tool
2)Check if your site was penalized with one of those pages that lets you check it.

I don’t believe your site was penalized. Check your analytics stats, find out which pages were the most visited and then find out the reason of that big drop in visitors.

I checked analytics and everything is fine.
I checked the most visited pages, decreased the visits, but I don’t know what happened to drop the visits.

Are you sure you were not being targetted by spammers?

I recommend contacting Google Analytics and asking them better ways of tracking your user engagement and more information on your analytics. Analytics can also be used to track drop-off points.

I made the spam filter and seem to have about 3% spam.

Could it not be something else that caused it?

It could be, however you need to check your logs (access, error, and even tracking)
