  • it’s not:

    %postname%

    It is:

    /%postname%/

    both / are required.

go directly to //yourdomain.com/wp-login.php after clearing your browser cookies and cache…

Then correct it and note what the page reads after clicking save.

    Thanks for your answer SwansonPhotos

My issue is that i want to restore the default setting.
When i choose “name of the article” option i have no authenfication box but when i choose “Default” the authentification log box appears.

    sorry for the missunderstanding

    thanks again

Are you doing this from within the admin dashboard in wordpress or using some cPanel or other webhost method?

The .htaccess file needs to have the proper permissions set on it so that WordPress can write to it.

The authentication issue is not directly a wordpress issue, discuss with your webhost.

    Hello there,

a buddy of mine has figured out the problem. it was a .htaccess in /wp-content/uploads folder. I just delete it and it works fine !

Thanks again to SwansonPhotos for his help :]
