• See this big fat gray blank spot in the middle of the back-end of my wordpress page? Go here: https://thehmc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/wordpress-backend.jpg

Can’t get rid of it permanently though it seems to disappear when I turn off various plugins, only to reappear later when the plugins are still turned off. Happens frequently enough to be really annoying. Tried various themes and gizmos that turn off Gutenberg.

    Stymied. Help appreciated!

  • I would suspect a plugin that adds something to the editor toolbar, or some errant style that is making one of the things in the toolbar very tall.
If you would open your browser Developer Tools on that editor page, you can Inspect Element to find what is that tall space, then see the CSS making it tall. That should give you an indication of where the thing or the CSS is coming from (by looking at the path name of the style sheet).
