• Dear all,

I have the plugin installed on my website to count the number of views based on unique visitors. But if I compare the numbers with the ones given by Google analytics, the difference is huge. For example, a post with 7000 views on post views counter has only 600 unique visitors (and 700 page views) on Google analytics.
Do you know why this might be happening?

There will always be differences, no matter which tools you compare.

With PVC you have options to control what and when should be regarded as the “view”. For example if you set “Time between counts” to a high number and Exclude bots and registered users you will have the count closer to GA statistics.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I also have this issue. Difference is huge, and I don’t know what to trust is correct post view.

For example, yesterday, according to this plugin, I had total 11300 visits. But Google Analytic shows 3,647 page views. That’s a really huge difference. I understand that there will always be a difference, but this huge difference can’t be normal.

In this plugin, I’m using PHP counter mode, robots and logged in users are excluded. Time Between Counts is 24 hours.

So, how can we be sure what is correct here?

@igor871 do you use a caching plugin?

I only use Autoptimize plugin which concatenate the CSS and JavaScript code, but I only started to use it recently. And this huge difference was always present, even before I started using mentioned plugin.
