Bible Book order and Translation
-
Thanks for the great plugin. It has come in handy on a website I’m building for an Italian church ministry.
I have both a support question as well as a suggestion…I have almost finished translating the plugin into Italian and will send you the files for repository as soon as they are finalized. However, I did have one issue and I’m not sure if it is caused by something in the plug-in or if there is some other cause (like in the translation software PoEdit). All the translations work as expected except in the case in which you use _x() and give context. In those cases (so mainly with labels in the admin section) I cannot get the translation text to be recognized. I’ve done a good bit of searching the web, but have so far not found a cause or solution to the problem.
Suggestion: If there were a way to set up a pre-defined list of bible books (and be able to put them in order) that would be great. At the moment the list of books will appear ordered by name. That means that they will not be in the usual order and all the books that start with a number (1 John, 1 Peter, etc) will show at the top of the list. If there were a way to set up the standard books in the correct order, it would be great. I tried creating the terms in order and doing an orderby=>ID, but that did not work. But even if it had, my client is now asking that the NT books be at the top of the list followed by the OT books! So an even better idea would be to give the possibility to create a custom order within the book taxonomy. Just a thought.
Thanks again.
