Beyond a simple archvie

  • I was wondering that if it’s possible to make an archive that would be it’s own page and will not fall into the new entries of the blog.

    Here’s an example.

    I have 160 posts that I would like to archive. However, I’m starting a new blog, and thus would like to start off with the first entry being the only one while the 160 I’ve done would be put to the side for “past entries” use. So, I can refer to them and people still make comments on them (if I choose to), but they just won’t fall in the new blog entries.

    Is that possible?

    On the left column, he has a section called “bonus features”. Which basically is like another blog, except it’s not stuff within the main blog.

    Is this possible with WordPress and how?

    There are many creative ways to do this in WordPress. First one that comes to mind is creating a category like “Featured Archives” or something else. Then change the category of the 160 posts to “Featured Archives.”
    In order to make sure that these 160 posts don’t show in the main blog, exclude the “Featured Archives” category from showing in the regular flow.
    You can show the “Featured Archives” in the sidebar via random posts, descending order, or ascending order, etc.
    The WordPress Codex is your friend. Search there and you shall find many answers.
