my client was very upset and I do have to waste time to understant that the plugin waas the guilty. I thought it was a cache plugin doing bad things ..and not !

    Hi @vaima01,

We’re sorry to hear about this issue that you faced on your website and it’s really weird because Optimole doesn’t have a mechanism to make images blurry if a limit is exceeded.

Whenever a limit is exceeded, first we will notify you about the exceeding limit and kindly ask you to consider the upgrade.

You can always contact us to investigate if you think the count of the visits was incorrect.

By this time you will have a few days to check if the upgrade is worth it, in case that you will decide to keep using the free version and the limit will be exceeded we will return your original images and this is what should have happened in your case.

Regarding the blurry images, from our experience, blurry images can happen if you have multiple lazy-loading mechanisms on your website so maybe you have installed another caching/optimization plugin that also lazy-loads images, and as Optimole was still working that caused the issue and images started appearing blurry.

In case you want to give Optimole another chance we can definitely investigate the problem and provide you more insights about why could have the conflict happened.

Let us know if you have any questions and if we can help you in any way!

    Hello vitys

in the mn I deactivated the Optimole plugin, all images went back to normal, not blurry.
I didn’t touch or activate/deactivate any other plugin at the same time.

you say in fact that other plugins are guilty and yes I have wprocket installed but since the minute I deactivate Optimole, everything is running fine.
SO I am sorry to insist that your plugin was the culprit.

    Hi @vaima01,

Thank you for sharing more details and that totally explains my point about the conflict with another plugin. I don’t mean that another plugin is guilty of the problem, the reason for the problem is duplicate lazy-loading functionality.

Let me explain it – if you had lazy-loading enabled in WP Rocket together with Optimole – that caused the issue with blurry images. No matter if you decided to disable Optimole’s lazy-loading functionality or WP Rocket’s lazy-loading functionality – that would have fixed the issue as conflict is solved this way.

This is the reason it’s not good practice to use multiple lazy-loading functionalities from different plugins whether it’s Optimole with WP Rocket or just another 2 random plugins.

I hope this makes sense and explains the situation that most likely happened in your case.

If you have any other concerns feel free to reach out.
