Better WordPress reCAPTCHA smart tag not expanded

In short, with BWP reCAPTCHA installed, I can add a tag for a “bwp-recaptcha” to the CF7 contact form. On display of the contact form, the tag is displayed without being expanded.
I am going to guess it is the smart tag handler within the BWP reCAPTHCA plugin that is not working, but I am raising it here too in case there has been a recent change to CF7 that may affect how third-party plugins plug into CF7 to extend it.
