Better than the rest already

  • This plugin is not perfect but it is a big improvement on existing plugins that deliver the same functionality.

    More importantly the progress of this plugin and eventual integration into BuddyPress core will ensure this functionality (which is essential for the vast majority of social networks) is done in a standard way. That will then enable other plugins to build upon it.
