• Hi there,
I am using Better Search on my website primary to search and online library I have using Memphis Docs. When conducting a search it only seems to pick up documents with the keyword it the title… It doesn’t seem to pick up on the keywords included in the description. Can you tell me if this can be fixed? Regular WordPress Pages/Posts seem to yield keyword search results from title and description just fine.
    Thanks!!!!
    my website is owl.cwp.org

Hi, I’m not sure exactly how Memphis Docs works. Does it use the normal post_content i.e. the same field as posts and pages? If so it gets indexed automatically

Thanks for the response. It appears to me that it does not use the post/pages feature of WordPress. I am not a real techie but it seems to me that the documents (typically pdf, excel or docx) are added to Memphis Docs via the Memphis Doc plugin. When you add a document to the Memphis Docs library you create a record that includes the title and a hand entered description. It also had fields for tags, author, etc. It doesn’t appear to be a post or page just a record.

So far all the search plugins I have found only will search Memphis Docs for the title which often doesn’t contain the keywords that folks would use to find the document. I am lookng for something that will search the description, author, and tags. Hoping that exists.

    Thanks!

Do you mind checking with support of Memphis Docs if they store the data in the post_content field or if they create their own custom fields.

Currently my plugin will only search through the title and post_content and doesn’t support custom fields out of the box.
