Better Product Category Management in baackend?

Hello, I am working on a woocom site that has almost 500 categories, with nested categories up to 8 levels deep. The thing is we are reorganizing the cats, and trying to work in with the default category display in woocommerce/wordpress is an absolute nightmare.
I searched google high and low, most of the plugins I have found are for collapsing categories in a frontend widget. The one I did find is out of date (Product Category Tree), and not all features seem to be working (including the most important one of being able to collapse categories and drag and drop to reorder.
Do any of you know of some way to do this without pulling all my hair out?
