Better Blend wpForo with BuddyPress
-
Hello, I recently installed wpForo and I absolutely love it. So many rich features, it’s exactly what I’m looking for. Now I’m just trying to figure out how to get wpForo to play nice with BuddyPress. Well, REALLY nice.
What do I mean? I know that wpForo already has light integration in that it recognizes when buddypress is installed, and places a link to the buddypress page on the wpForo profile page. However, that seems to be as far as it goes. On the BuddyPress profile page, there is a tab that shows a member’s forum posts. It integrates completely with bbPress. But it doesn’t recognize when wpForo is installed and doesn’t display the link. And of course if I place a custom link there, it doesn’t show any actual forum information. I’m forced to link directly to the wpForo profile page.
In and of itself not horrible. Just mildly annoying. But I noticed I had a bigger problem when I went and tested the buddypress group fourm. They don’t connect at all. I don’t know what forum application the groups are using (I guess buddypress has their own forum software . . . that they don’t link to?), but I REALLY want the groups to link in to the wpForo plugin.
So, in a nutshell -> Is there a way for me to include the wpForo profile info in the BuddyPress Forum tab area, and is there a way to link the BuddyPress Groups Forum to the wpForo plugin, as well as show the group’s forum statistics on the group home page forum tab?
You should know that while I know enough php to recognize where certain bits of code are located, I don’t know nearly enough to have any idea what to do with them.
I look forward to hearing back!
Thanks!
