Beta testing the new plugin

Hi Antoine,

I havn’t used your plugin before, but your plugin is just what I need and would like to try it and test if needed. But as I never used it before, then I can’t compare with earlier versions or extensions.

Are the extensions integrated in your new beta plugin or are they optional for specific functionality?

Hi Tom, The extensions are not included in the plugin. They are small files that can be downloaded from the forum and activated for extra functionality or to change certain aspects of the plugin.

If you want to try the dev plugin, that would be great. Any bugs can be reported in this topic.

Hi Antoine,

I tried to use the development version, used duplicator and moved the complete website to a different domain – loaded the datas.
At that time I checked and the site was running with the ‘old’ version.
After that I uploaded the ‘development’ files as requested.

First test – I got the error message “sorry not allowed to access the page”.

Not sure what went wrong. I completely deactivated all football plugins and tried with the main plugin only. Same result.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the feedback. I will check the update process to see if I can find any problems with it.

I’ve made some optimizations to the upgrade queries to reduce the chance of errors. The development version zip-file is updated with these changes. Not sure if this was the cause for the issues that @mrbgoch experienced, but according to this site a plugin can cause the permissions error after an update.

I’ve tried the upgrade several times from v2.9.2 -> v.2.10.0 and from v.2.9.2 -> v2.9.7 -> v2.10.0 and didn’t see any problems. The test database that I used holds approx. 2200 users and 17,5K prediction rows.
A positive note: the ranking page performed a lot better after the upgrade.

The list of changes can be found in the changelog and in this phase I am also not adding any new features to this version.

Is it possible to install this dev version and keep the original version also active, in case the dev version is not stable?

And, when (if) are you planning to implement these updates to a ‘real’ update for the plugin?

No, you can’t have 2 versions of the plugin active in one WP install.

Not sure yet. Trying to find enough time to test all scenarios. If I have to put a date on it, then I guess 2-3 months from now.

First of all, I would like to praise your plugin, it is excellent and complete.

Second, how much would you ask to develop a tool in the plugin as follows: When the user fills in the guesses, a table is generated with the position and points added by each team in the championship, this table is generated individually according to the guesses of each user, and generates points for the user in the pool according to the correct position in the ranking of the teams. example: 30 points for hitting the champion, 5 points for hitting the 2nd place and so on, according to the configuration.

You have an ETA when you will release the current beta version ? Don’t want to start building a website with an outdated version but I understand the testing phase ofcourse

Not sure if its the beta or my site, but the groups are only showing the top 2 teams (rather than all 4). This feature works on other sites (non-beta version).

I want to confirm that I have added all team to each group, so its not that I am missing them. See MD1 cdv code below.
