Best WP setup for this project?

  • We are working on a new website based on wordpress for my client.

    Existing (non WP-)site: https://projectecosphere.org

    I am wondering if we are better off doing a WP Multisite install or if other configs would be the same or better.

    My client is a non-profit organization organizing several yearly events in different cities. Each city has a different program for its event, and it changes yearly. (currently 2 cities, 3 this year, probably 4 the next).

    The client’s audience is in 2 languages, French and English (he`s in Quebec, Canada). So there is a french site/section and an english site or section needed for each city.

    Here is what the website(s) needs to do:

    • include one main blog
    • include content relevant to the organization (not tied to any particular event or city), like About Us, Contact…etc
    • include sections or site(s) to showcase each city’s program
    • include a general business directory based on all exhibitors (their business clients) – so it’s not tied to any particular city
